Brass Rejoicing
Part of the successful Wantage Silver Band organisation, their award winning, championship section band will perform a selection of music put together by their musical director Jonathan Pippen. This will include a new commission being written specially for the band to perform at this concert by Newbury-based composer Florence Anna Maunders.
The concert theme of Brass Rejoicing takes inspiration from Edward Gregson’s masterpiece The World Rejoicing: Symphonic Variations on a Lutheran Chorale, which will form part of tonight’s performance and will be performed by the band at the 2023 British Open Spring Festival in Blackpool.
Come along to celebrate all that is good about the sound of a brass band.
Commission supported by Friends of Newbury Spring Festival
